After Delhi, Mumbai Flight Operations Impacted Due To Glitch (X @CSMIA_Official)

Mumbai: After Delhi, flight operations at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) got impacted on Friday. As per the reports, the flight operation in Mumbai got affected due to a technical glitch.

Notably, the glitch was recorded just hours after a similar issue at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport impacted more than 300 flights.

What the officials of Mumbai Airport said?

The officials of Mumbai Airport wrote on X, “Flight Operations at Mumbai Airport have been affected by a technical issue impacting the Automatic Message Switching System (AMSS) at Delhi, which supports Air Traffic Control flight planning. The concerned authorities are actively working to resolve the issue at the earliest.”

“As a result, airline operations may experience delays. Passengers are advised to connect with their respective airlines for updates on flight status and revised schedules. We regret the inconvenience caused and appreciate your patience and cooperation,” the notice further read.

Mumbai airport issued advisory in connection with the flight operations issues with Delhi’s automatic message switching system (AMSS). It stated that that AMSS plays an important role in air traffic control and flight planning, is under repair.

What is Air India's advisory? 

Earlier after the technical snag at Delhi airport, Air India issued an advisory on X, which read, ''A technical issue with the ATC system in Delhi is impacting flight operations across all airlines, leading to delays and longer wait times at the airport and onboard aircraft. We regret the inconvenience caused by this unforeseen disruption, which is beyond our control, and appreciate your patience. Our cabin crew and on-ground staff at the airport are extending immediate assistance to reduce passenger inconvenience.''

What is Indigo's advisory?

Indigo also issued an advisory in connection with the technical snag in the AMSS system. It took to X and posted, ''We understand that the ongoing AMSS system issue affecting Air Traffic Control has led to delays and disruptions to travel plans, and we fully understand the inconvenience this may be causing to our customers and their loved ones.''

It continue to add, ''While the authorities work to restore full system functionality, our priority is to support you with timely updates and assistance across all airport touchpoints. Our teams remain available and are doing their utmost to ensure your journey remains as smooth as possible.''
